He says army commandos captured the FARC rebels manning a security ring around the hostages without any loss of life. The other 11 hostages freed were Colombian soldiers and police. Betancourt - a French-Colombian - is the rebel group's highest-profile hostage She is believed to suffer from serious liver problems and was pictured looking frail in a recent video.
